Bands/Albums

Joy Division- Just listen to everything they ever did. many times. They're amazing and I listen to/cry to them regularly. Also Peter Hook is a huge influence on my own bass playing.

New Order- first two albums are good, went downhill from there, Power, Lies, and Corruption is fun and more upbeat but still feels post-punk

The Sisters of Mercy- their 3 albums are all amazing, some people say floodland is shit and i strongly disagree, its as good if not better than First and Last and Always.

Wire - 154- Best I've heard of Wire so far, evokes the vibe I like, sorta proto-post-punk.

Sad Lovers and Giants - Epic Garden Music- More post-punk but its happier feeling, well, about as happy as post punk can get before it becomes something else, worth a listen, it's gotten better every time I've listened, I need to listen to more of their discograpghy.

Twisted Nerve- Everything they've done is pretty great, bass work is quite good.

The Wake - Harmony- Formulaic post-punk but damn, do they have the formula down well.

London After Midnight - Selected Scenes from the End od the World- very good, also very freaky. Listen if you like being probelatic.

The Cure - Pornography, Faith- Both excellent albums, regularly listened to Primary walking through the cemetary in my hometown over winter break.

Things I need to listen to

Modern English - Mesh & Lace- Haven't listened to it enough times to really form a super solid opinion but it seems good.

Section 25 - Always Now- Also seems good but I've only gotten part of the way through, evokes a similar sonic feeling to Joy Division.

The Cure - Seventeen Seconds- Just need to listen to this, again seems good from what I've heard so far.

Movies and Shows

Interview with the Vampire(TV Series)- Very good(at least so far), thoroughly enjoed this, keeps the incredibly stupid essence of the original but makes it actully good.

Hostel 2- Great movie, don't watch 1 or 3, both are awful, 2 is good, actually contains good torture. Also freaky.
